William Stackhouse, my Maternal GG Grandfather, was born in 1800 in Leicester England. His father was Hugh Stackhouse also from Leicester England. His mother may have been a Mary Berrington, but I have yet to prove that. William and his younger brother Hugh Stackhouse born Abt 1804 came to America sometime before 1820. I'm still researching WIlliam's parents and siblings so am not sure if they also came to America. William married my GG Grandmother, Jane McNabb from North Carolina on 14 Sept 1820 in Washington Co Tennessee. They lived in Tennessee until 1830-1832 when they moved to Breckenridge County Kentucky. They had 10 children, including my Great Grandmother, Mary Jane Stackhouse, before moving to Orange County Indiana in 1841. After settling in Indiana, they had 2 more children. William died in 1872 in Orange County Indiana and is buried in Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Jane McNabb Stackhouse is also buried there.
